This Man Has A Great Message - YouTube Videos For #Tier5 #Unemployment

This man has a great message.  He speaks mainly to Preisdent Obama and is stating what many others are stating - he cannot find work.  He is asking the President to please visit town halls where the unemployed are or go to offices where the unemployed are needing assistance.

Main Street Needs A Bailout, Mr. President.  Congress, work harder and faster.  People are sinking or have already sunk bottom.  We need to bail out our people now.  Spread this video to as many as you can.  This message is echoed by this blog and this video should be posted as a video response to any video with large hits that we can find.

Here's the link and video:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7B_EY4i5bjM&feature=player_embedded

Pennsylvania Unemployment Rate 9.0% - 1.1 Million Jobless In Pennsylvania Will Need Tier 5 Unemployment

According to Google Data based on numbers from the US Census, the total population of Pennsylvania is 12,604,767.  With the knowledge of March unemployment rates at 9.0% from the USDOL, BLS.  Just doing the raw math, this blogger gets the figure of 1,134,429 jobless in that state.

There is a great video on YouTube posted about Pennsylvania unemployment.  The video illustrates a smaller number than what this blogger is calculating just using the raw data but chasing the true numbers is tricky, at best.  We all do know that there are a number simply not counted.  There is a very high number of under-employed all throughout the country.

Check out this YouTube video if you haven't got the chance yet:

The jobless in Pennsylvania are going to need additional weeks of benefits.  Even if the numbers were 10,000 unemployed - these people are in this situation through no fault of their own and there are not enough jobs.  The math may not match but the people without work match and these Pennsylvanians matter, Congress.

The two United States Senators from Pennsylvania are:  Robert P. Casey and the infamous Arlen Specter.  The contact information for these Senators is here:  http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm?State=PA

The official website for the State of Pennsylvania for filing a claim is:  http://www.uc.pa.gov/portal/server.pt/community/uc_pa_gov/11449

Unemployed-Friends.com and Four Pillars have forums for these persons to gather and share resources and information specific to their states.  Here are the links:

Unemployed-Friends Forum - Pennsylvania

Four Pillars Forum - Unemployment Benefits Extended In Stimulus

(I had trouble finding the Four Pillars forum specifically for PA residents.  I did see recent activity from the link posted for the Four Pillars forum with persons posting from PA.)

I hope this information helps the residents of Pennsylvania and the majority of visitors to this blog from that state may come to this page by search engine traffic.  It is important that they have the most resources as possible (just like all states need) - so that they can organize and share resources.

If anyone knows any other sources where the unemployed in state of Pennsylvania are organizing and sharing information specific their state, please post that information in comments.  It will help these residents stay connected with other unemployed persons in their state and quickly share vital information.

Jim McDermott Changes YouTube Video Title After Caving To "Republican Obstructionism"

Mr. McDermott, you are not the only one who can change a title.  Logged for all of my readers (which is quite a considerable number for a small blog) is the blatant fact that you had a YouTube video that you titled "Rep. Jim McDermott on Tier 5 Unemployment Extension".

Now you have changed that title.  Did you cave to the same Republican obstructionism you speak about in your video or did you think you could prosper from a publicity stunt?  Inquiring minds want to know.

Below was US Unemployed Blogsite's original posting on this:

Something interesting is on YouTube.  It has a posted date of April 23, 2010.  The most encouraging information for the long term unemployed is the fact that this particular YouTube video is posted by Representative Jim McDermott's official YouTube Channel:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ImcruChcDNI

The video WAS titled:

"Rep. Jim McDermott on Tier 5 Unemployment Extension"

There are only two options why this video exists under that title and is on the offiical YouTube Channel for the Washington State's 7th Congressional District by Democrat Representative Jim McDermott.

It's either a publicity stunt - earmarked to simply talk about Republican obstructionism and a really bad joke to play on the longest term unemployed who desperately need a Tier 5 Unemployment Extension.

-OR-

He plans to introduce Tier 5 Legislation.

Let's hold him accountable to the latter.  If the first possible explanation (or something similar) is his plan, he would be using those needing a Tier 5 as a publicity stunt.  He would be essentially insulting the intelligence of all of the longest-term  unemployed.  Personally, I do not believe McDermott would do this.  His district has a very high unemployment rate and his voting record in the past has always been in the favor of extending unemployment.

Readers, what do you think?  Publicity stunt or real thing?  Obviously, we need the legislation on the table before we can say for certain but Mr. McDermott needs to be held accountable titling a YouTube video "Rep. Jim McDermott on Tier 5 Unemployment Extension" if he does not intend to bring the legislation to floor.

Now for certain we can say he's changed position or that was a publicity stunt.  Shame on you, Rep. McDermott!
