Our Mi...Advocacy For The Long Term Unemployed"
Our Mission Statement:
To work for the rights of all long term unemployed, who are by definition within the context of this association, any U.S. Citizen who has exhausted all existing Federal and State unemployment benefits.
Our goal is to influence public policy for the purpose of creating an extension of unemployment benefits that would extend beyond the current ninety-nine week maximum as is now allowed by Federal law.
The desired extension would remain in effect until the National Unemployment Level returns to 8.0%

I would ask all of you to join in, and to find others who are in support of our cause to also join us. PLEASE NOTE, all that is necessary for membership is your first name and the first letter of your last name. Be assured, at no time will you be asked for donations in any form. I am also not asking you to do any more then you are right now. What this will allow for is when you make calls, send faxes, write e-mails, contact the media, etc. you will now be able to say you belong to a "specific group". No longer will you be looked at as just one person with a concern, but the perception/reality will be that you are part of an organized and united front of many, who are determined to effect change and have the numbers to do so (think re-election of our Senators, Congressmen).
Myself, Paladinette, and another member, who has created a "real time" forum for the discussion of our need and right for a tier 5 extension are creating a petition of sorts, that will be sent to all major newspapers (letters to the editor), and other media outlets. Think of the power this document will carry when it is shown as having come from an organized group carrying hundreds of signatures of its membership (more info on that document to come soon).
Please consider how important and how powerful this will be, at this critical time when our elected officials are working toward finalizing the extension dates of unemployment benefits. I would ask you to please consider this for your future and the future of millions just like you (myself included). All that need be done on your part is to send me, "G", a private message via this site that you wish to take part, and again all that is necessary for membership is your first name and the first letter of your last name along with a valid e-mail address in order that you receive confirmation of your acceptance. No other personal information is required. OR send the required information, along with a valid e-mail address in order that you receive confirmation of your acceptance to: mailto:afltu5@verizon.net. You shall receive your confirmation within twenty-four hours.
More information can be found here……
http://tier5.webs.com/
A friend I met on the unemployment blogs has started a paltalk channel so we can express. This is a good format to vent, discuss ideas, and share stories in real time voice. If you need any help PM me, and I can get you going. Here is a link to paltalk free download and where to find us.

http://www.paltalk.com/download_auto.shtml

The channel is under social Issues & politics>tier 5 to surviveUnknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10687153775233056010noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6798560660952373450.post-23109958032844104042010-04-28T21:47:23.325-04:002010-04-28T21:47:23.325-04:00Were all to be forsaken.
